Aesthetic longevity plans how to support healthy-looking skin and healthy muscle over time.
Aesthetic medicine often starts with a visible correction, such as softening a line, improving laxity, or restoring a contour. A longevity approach also considers the tissues behind the concern.
Skin and muscle are different treatment targets.
Skin provides structure, elasticity, and surface quality. Muscle contributes tone, firmness, and support beneath the skin. Both affect appearance and movement as the body ages, but each needs its own assessment and treatment plan.

From anti-aging to aesthetic longevity
The phrase "anti-aging" frames aging as something to fight. In aesthetic medicine, longevity is a planning approach, not a claim about extending lifespan. The provider assesses skin and muscle separately and plans for tissue quality over time.

The plan should:
Support skin longevity with controlled dermal injury, healing, and remodeling.
Support healthy muscle through progressive training.
Coordinate both while keeping each treatment's role, evidence, labeling, and screening requirements distinct.
"Regeneration" is a planning term. It is not a claim that a device regrows tissue or treats disease. For skin, it refers to healing and remodeling after a defined thermal injury. For muscle, it refers to progressive stimulation and training of healthy muscle to support tone, firmness, strengthening, and muscle performance within applicable indications. Each treatment target has its own labeling and screening requirements.

Skin longevity starts in the dermis
The dermis contains collagen, elastin, and other extracellular matrix components. These components give skin its strength, elasticity, and support. Changes in their organization and quality over time may appear as lines, wrinkles, laxity, and reduced resilience.
A durable remodeling response requires more than warming tissue. The target needs a sufficient, controlled thermal dose to create a defined injury with denaturation or coagulation. That injury can start healing and remodeling, including the formation and reorganization of collagen and elastin. As the dermis remodels, treated skin may show improvement in lines, wrinkles, and laxity. Results vary.

Sofwave uses non-focused, planar ultrasound. SUPERB stands for Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam. The system delivers parallel ultrasound beams through the dermis while SofCool protects the skin surface, including the epidermis. Anatomy determines the heating zone. It starts where SofCool protection ends and continues through the patient's dermal thickness. Sofwave is designed to create controlled fractional coagulation in the dermis.

Temporary tissue contraction is not the endpoint. Immediate thermal shrinkage is different from remodeling. The objective is the healing response that follows a defined dermal injury.
Clinical studies have evaluated parallel-beam ultrasound for facial lines and wrinkles, facial skin laxity, and lax tissue in the eyebrow, submental region, and neck. Human biopsy research has reported changes in collagen, elastin, glycosaminoglycans, and dermal fiber organization after treatment. Use Sofwave's current indications, contraindications, and safety information to guide treatment decisions. Results vary by patient, treatment area, and follow-up interval.
Muscle is the second pillar of aesthetic longevity
Muscle shapes the body beneath the skin. It contributes to tone, firmness, and support.
A person can have healthy-looking skin and still notice changes in muscle tone or firmness. An active person may still want to address skin quality. One plan can cover both concerns, but the treatments serve different roles.

PureImpact VIP uses PlyoPulse for healthy muscle training only. It is not a disease treatment. Its FDA-cleared indications include improvement of abdominal tone, strengthening of the abdominal muscles, development of a firmer abdomen, and improvement of muscle tone and firmness and strengthening of muscles in the arms, thighs, and buttocks. The labeling also describes stimulation of healthy muscles to improve or facilitate muscle performance as a technique of muscle training.
PlyoPulse uses software-controlled, multidirectional stimulation with progressive programming to activate healthy muscle. Sofwave addresses the dermal target. PureImpact VIP addresses healthy muscle within its applicable indications.
A two-tissue model for total body regeneration
Sofwave and PureImpact VIP use different technologies for different layers. A provider may coordinate them in one longevity plan while assessing and treating each target on its own.
Sofwave is designed to create controlled fractional dermal injury and start a healing and remodeling response. PureImpact VIP uses progressive PlyoPulse stimulation to train healthy muscle within cleared indications.
Putting both technologies in one plan does not merge the tissue targets or create one combined treatment. It coordinates two tissue priorities.
"Total body regeneration" means coordinating these priorities:
A provider evaluates each tissue, defines the goal, selects the appropriate technology, and plans support over time. Coordination is part of the plan, not a third tissue pillar.

Why tissue-preserving treatment fits longevity
Longevity-oriented aesthetics should support tissue quality without sacrificing healthy tissue. Sofwave and PureImpact VIP do this in different ways. Sofwave intentionally creates controlled fractional coagulation in the dermis—the defined injury that initiates healing and remodeling—but it does not cut, ablate, or remove tissue, and its mechanism does not depend on scar formation. SofCool protects the skin surface during treatment.

PureImpact VIP uses PlyoPulse to train healthy muscle. Its intended mechanism is stimulation and progressive muscle work, not thermal injury or tissue removal. One technology remodels the dermis; the other trains healthy muscle. Together they provide a tissue-preserving approach that fits naturally with the emerging field of longevity.

Building an aesthetic longevity plan
No single protocol fits every patient. Anatomy, treatment area, tissue quality, goals, current labeling, medical history, and provider assessment determine the plan.
A consultation should cover:
Which tissue is the primary concern? Determine whether the visible change mainly involves skin, muscle, fat, or more than one tissue. Neither Sofwave nor PureImpact VIP is a fat-reduction treatment.
What is the desired outcome? Define whether the goal is improved skin quality, an applicable lifting or laxity endpoint, healthier muscle tone and firmness, strengthening, or more than one of these goals.
Which technology is designed for the target? Skin and muscle require different treatment approaches.
How should the plan change over time? Include reassessment and appropriate maintenance. Do not assume one treatment schedule fits every person or produces a permanent result.

Patients may start with skin treatment, healthy muscle training, or both. When both are appropriate, the provider handles them as distinct parts of a broader plan. A qualified provider should set the sequence and timing based on current labeling and patient-specific screening. Every plan should include a review of current contraindications and safety information for the selected treatment.

Regenerative thinking in aesthetic medicine
Longevity planning sets an objective for tissue quality over time. It does not claim that treatment can stop aging.
For skin, the objective is to create the controlled dermal injury needed to initiate healing and remodeling. For muscle, it is to train healthy muscle to support tone, firmness, strengthening, and performance within applicable indications.
A provider can coordinate both goals in one long-term plan and reassess each tissue separately.
Frequently asked questions
What does longevity mean in aesthetic medicine?
It is long-term planning for tissue quality in aesthetic care. It does not mean extending lifespan or stopping aging.
What does skin regeneration mean?
Skin regeneration is the healing and remodeling response after a sufficient, controlled injury in the target tissue. With Sofwave, controlled fractional coagulation in the dermis can start remodeling, including changes in collagen, elastin, and extracellular matrix organization.
What does muscle regeneration mean here?
It means progressive training and support of healthy muscle. PureImpact VIP uses PlyoPulse within FDA-cleared indications related to tone, firmness, strengthening, and healthy muscle performance. It does not treat disease or claim literal muscle regrowth.
Is Sofwave's 11.5 MHz ultrasound focused or HIFU?
No. Sofwave uses non-focused, planar 11.5 MHz ultrasound. SUPERB stands for Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam. It is not HIFU and does not use focused ultrasound.
Can Sofwave and PureImpact VIP be considered in the same longevity plan?
A qualified provider may consider both when a patient has skin and healthy muscle goals. Each technology addresses a different tissue target. The provider coordinates them around the patient's needs as separate treatments.
