Published in the Journal of Aesthetic Nursing, the clinical review examines the complementary roles of dermal regeneration and muscle conditioning in modern aesthetic practice.

SAN CLEMENTE, California, August 20, 2026 – A new peer-reviewed article published in the July 2026 issue of the Journal of Aesthetic Nursing explores the clinical role of Sofwave™ and Pure Impact VIP™ in regenerative aesthetics, with a focus on addressing both dermal and muscular components of aging.

The article, “Integrating dermal and muscular regeneration: the clinical role of Sofwave and Pure Impact VIP in modern aesthetics,” was commissioned by Sofwave™ and authored by Dr. Jennifer Doyle, Aesthetic Doctor and Consultant Oculoplastic Surgeon and Founder of The Clinic at Holland Park, together with Dr. Arshi Baig. It was published following the journal’s double-blind peer-review process.

Drawing on existing scientific literature, regulatory indications and clinical applications, the review examines the mechanisms, evidence base and practical integration of both technologies. It highlights Sofwave’s use of proprietary SUPERB™ (Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam) technology to stimulate collagen remodeling in the mid-dermis, alongside Pure Impact VIP’s PlyoPulse™ electrical muscle stimulation technology for muscle strengthening, firming and toning.

The article also examines the growing relevance of combining dermal and muscular approaches for patients experiencing significant weight loss, including those using GLP-1 receptor agonists, who may present with both skin laxity and reduced muscle tone.

“The next generation of aesthetic medicine will be defined by regeneration rather than replacement. By combining collagen stimulation with muscle conditioning, we’re beginning to treat ageing as a structural process – not just a cosmetic one.”

Dr. Jennifer Doyle, Aesthetic Doctor and Consultant Oculoplastic Surgeon, Founder of The Clinic at Holland Park

The authors conclude that Sofwave™ and Pure Impact VIP™ can play complementary roles within regenerative aesthetic treatment plans, addressing skin quality and structural muscular support while offering non-invasive treatment options with minimal downtime.
