McDaniel, MD is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He is a Co-Director of the Hampton University Skin of Color Research Institute, Adjunct Professor in the School of Science, Hampton University, as well as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Biological Sciences for Old Dominion University. In addition to his dermatology training, he has special training in physical chemistry, light physics, pathology and dermatopathology, botany and emergency medicine. He is the author of over 75 scientific articles and book chapters, primarily concentrating in the field of laser cosmetic surgery, antioxidants, and anti-aging medicine. In March 2016, Dr. McDaniel was awarded a presidential citation from the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery for his “commitment to research and innovation to advance laser and energy based science, and for his years of commitment to teaching at ASLMS.” Dr. McDaniel has been selected by his peers to be included in The Best Doctors in American for 2017-2018 for the 24th year in a row. He is one of the expert voices quoted in popular magazines such as O, Elle, Vogue, Allure, Essence, Time, Forbes, as well as by major media such as Good Morning America and the BBC. Dr. McDaniel also serves as president of a non-profit charity, The Center for Disfigurement.
