The 2020s are here, and it certainly feels like the future if you’re one of the millions of people searching for ways to keep the signs of aging at bay. Not only do patients have more choices than ever before, but they also have many solutions that allow them to avoid recuperating from surgery along their cosmetic journey.

As seasoned innovators with decades of experience in the aesthetic industry, we have long been motivated by the idea that making a positive impact in a patient’s life does not need to require an incision. This vision has driven our efforts to develop Sofwave™, a unique, non-invasive approach to improving facial lines and wrinkles using proprietary Intense Ultrasound Beam™ Technology. Learn more about how it works, here.

A changing landscape

The introduction of Sofwave comes amid a shift in preferences among patients in recent years. Instead of invasive surgery, a growing number of men and women are searching for more modern ways to achieve their cosmetic goals.

The latest stats from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) revealed a boom in non-invasive procedures across the United States, including increased interest in non-surgical skin treatments.  In fact, the ASPS survey found such procedures increased by 9% in 2018 compared with the previous year. Additionally, a recent trend report from RealSelf also shows a significant increase in interest among the most common non-invasive cosmetic treatments.

Why non-invasive?

Surgery is often needed to achieve aesthetic goals, and the decision to have it (or not) is extremely personal. For many patients, non-invasive treatments like Sofwave offer enticing benefits, including:

  • Saving time. Non-invasive procedures are typically quick and easy to fit into a busy lifestyle. A Sofwave treatment can be completed during the lunch break — lasting approximately 30 -45 minutes for the full face.
  • Safe. Because they do not require incisions, non-invasive treatments are less likely to cause an infection than surgery.

New technology for a new decade

Non-invasive skin treatments have improved significantly in recent years, and technology continues to advance. In developing Sofwave, we set out to create a smart yet simple solution that allows physicians to treat the skin at just the right depth in the mid-dermis. This not only protects the outer layer of skin and underlying structures from injury, but it also means Sofwave can be used on all skin types with clinical efficacy. We also aimed to offer patients a solution that is effective, then some other popular non-invasive skin wrinkles treatments.

In 2020, we expect to see continued interest in non-surgical skin treatments and we are thrilled to be a part of this exciting period in aesthetic medicine. To learn more about Sofwave, click here.
